The laser in generally an Alexendrite or Nd Yag Qswitche, which can target the pigment of the tattoo (bleu, black, red is the harder to remove and yellowis complicated too). this pigment is in fact ink this ink is in a solid state in the skin.

The laser target the color of the pigment(ink) and this color only. the light of the laser is specific and choerent, it only targets with its unique wavelength one objective. when the laser reaches its target (solid) this one is “blasted” in micro-particles that go out of the skin .

When those particles are leaving the skin ink is chiping the skin and create some blood and plasma. this phenomenon is close to a scratch on the skin.

At the end of the session the doctor applies a cream and cover the treated zone with a dressing for 1 to 2 days.

After the first session the tattoo seems more blury. several session are required to erase correctly a tattoo. the number is only liked to the visibility of the tattoo.
