Summary of a meeting:
“…I met bruno from pigalle thanx to a call i gave him. There i discovered an other world once i entered his studio. His workshop has changed a lot since my fisrt comlming now he exports all over the world. even in new-zeland which is a starting point in the history of tattoo!
…this day bruno was tatooing a teacher of chinese, and i realised that tattoo touched every class of the society…
then it has become known that i was interested in tattoo and a lot of professional tattooists cam e to see me surprised that a doctor was interested by their art. that is also the way i was invited at the first tattoo convention at the elysÈe montmarte.
Bruno since the middle 1960’s talked in his first book about the detattooing technic that existed at the time (the hardway!). he would also say that he was in touch with doctors .what were your relationship with him?
i made him come to Tours few years ago for a lesson on tattooing and detattooing. The technic of medical tattoo has developped this last years and i buy my supply only at his place.
what are the phatologies that can be revealed throug tattooing?
in fact some dermatological phatologies can be revealed by tattooing. that happens, this is called the phenomenon of Keubner.
Here’s a case i had:
A young man who had psoriasis on his body has developed a “sheet” of psoriasis just under the tattoo he just had made.
But it’s not because you get tattooed that you have psoriasis!
Does the new laser technic of detattooing can be used as creative means like branding?
it’s not the purpose of the doctor!!! we could create a kind of negative tattoo but doctors are the only one to have access to the laser. wich means that he would have a parallel activity (out of pure medical activity) it’s punishable!
But the Q switch laser will not mark a non-tattooed skin…
what about tattoos ona birth mark?
some have said that you could tattoo on it with a pigment closde to the natural colour of the skin…but there’s a risk: if the angioma is hypervascularized the pigment can go into the blood flood. the tattoo would not last. so except this case ther’s no danger. everything thing depends on seize of the pigment.
what about tattoos on scars and armpits?
there’s no danger to tattoo onb scars, it is just more difficult for the tattooist because the skin is thicker than normal.
concerning the armpit there’s no particular danger.
But for some places where skin is really thin, like the eye lids, it’s more complicateted because it’s a sorte of “dribbling” tattoo.
skin is more loose at these place.
