Mars : the god of the war
Mars is the Roman god of the war. It is the powerful divinity which plays a major role in the politics warrior of Rome. Indeed, Mars is the protective god of the armies. Thus the god is called to favor Romain during the fights.
The god Mars is also a reference god for Rome because he is the father of the hero – founder Latin Romulus

According to Ovide, Juno would have become a mother of the god Mars by being in contact with a flower.
MARS: FATHER OF ROMULUS AND REMUS
Mars is in love with the vestal Rhea Silvia. They have together twins: Romulus and Remus. Mars so is to be one of the divine ancestors of Romulus, the founder of Rome. According to the legend, when Romulus disappears, he is taken in heavens by Mars, on his tank.
The Latin author Ovide evokes in the Metamorphoses the love affairs of Mars.
MARS AND VENUS
Mars had a love story with the goddess Venus. But Venus is married to Red admiral. Thus the lovers had to hide their loves.
THE ANGER OF RED VULCAN
The Sun surprises one day the adulterous loves of Mars and Venus. Apollo ( the Sun) reveals the history with Red admiral, the husband of Venus. Furious, Red admiral captures the lovers with an invisible net. Then, to make a fool of both lovers, he exposes them in front of all other gods.
